I came across this sweet, tasty, beautiful, saliva-inducing collaborative effort of totally tubular proportions last night, with just enough time for me to kick myself for not being flush enough with cash to be able to afford the $250 price tag (to add insult to injury, the price increased to $350 this morning). But not to say that it wouldn’t be worth every penny – this incredible collaboration between photographers Paolo Pellegrin, Jim Goldberg, Susan Meiselas, Alec Soth, Mikhael Subotzky, and writer Ginger Strand is totally blowing my mind to smithereens. The group traveled across the Southwest in pursuit of American identity and the ensuing documentation was manifest in an intense variety of radical resolutions including a few zines, postcards, prints, foldouts, posters, bumper stickers (yeah), and a group book. The variables were designed by Michael Aberman and Emmet Byrne of the Walker Art Center.
It’s a limited edition of 500, so grab a copy while you can. As for myself, I’ll be contemplating which limb to trade in for it…
